Aldgate Place - EH Smith

Aldgate Place

London

Three residential towers, a hotel, office and commercial space, are grouped on a compact site opposite Aldgate East Station just beyond the eastern edge of London’s Square Mile. The buildings’ materiality responds to the largely brick character of the neighbouring Whitechapel Conservation Area.

Overall this landmark scheme will deliver 463 new homes, a 160-room four-star hotel, underground parking and landscaped gardens, a gym, cafes, restaurants and shops, within six buildings from six to 25 storeys high.

A dusty grey and black brick was chosen by the architects to lend a contemporary twist to the local vernacular.
