Royal Arsenal

EH Smith have been supplying this prestigious site on the famous Royal Arsenal site after assisting the client with numerous options to meet the demanding requirements of client, Architect and planners.

Two Bricks were chosen for this phase, along with use of a bespoke Brown Salt Glaze with a semi-translucent finish for some of the Brickwork panels.

We also worked with the balcony fabricator/installer, Balguard Engineering, to provide a brick slip system to allow for the pre-cladding of the balconies which could be fabricated at ground level and then craned in to position using our BBA approved Fast Clad system.

The balconies were lifted into place pre-clad and then pointed by the brickwork subcontractor to ensure that the joint was identical to that of the traditionally laid brickwork, the systems flexibility in allowing the use of any type of Brick meant that there was no visual difference across the entire project.
