The Oval Cricket Ground - One Oval Square - EH Smith

The Oval Cricket Ground – One Oval Square

London

For 175 years, The Oval has played home to Surrey County Cricket Club in the heart of South London.

Some of cricket’s greatest moments have taken place under the famous gas holders, and the very best players throughout history have demonstrated their skill on the hallowed turf.

The new stand is one of the most significant and exciting developments in the history of Surrey County Cricket Club and the largest ever addition to the ground which will now increase to a capacity of 28,000.

We are delighted to have worked on the Entrance Portico a number of years ago and now add to that the new Oval Square development. We worked with Architects, Rolfe Judd, to develop a bespoke blend of waterstruck bricks that are suitable for pre-cast with our exclusive award winning partners, Deppe Backstein. This was complemented by a range of UK bricks from Ibstock and Wienerberger to ensure that the new development blends into the existing historic fabric.
