Global Inspiration: Atlantida Church

Built in 1952, the Atlantida Church in Atlantida, Uruguay is a masterclass in brick.

From the spectacular undulating interior to the striking modernist exterior this contemporary of Le Corbusier used a concrete re-enforced structure with a lattice of steel to create the sinuous structure.

The continuous use of brick in different forms gives the building a warm texture and a continuous narrative throughout the building.
