  The structure of the extension uses the T7 mineral wool filled 365mm block to give the thermal performance required. The innovative use of the T9 365 block being sliced into tiles for the outside was a concept co-created by EH Smith and Dan Pope, a specialist in clay technology.  

This selfbuild project in St Albans unusually used Porotherm as an exposed internal surface. Although it is not usually left exposed, the warm terracotta tones and tactile quality really stand out!
