The project created new homes for frail and vulnerable elderly people at affordable rents, including 22 (one and two bed) apartments and 4 (two bed) bungalows. The scheme is part of an existing elderly community, which included the upgrade of the common room, which functions as the social hub for the overall Whitefriars development.
The project won an RIBA West Midlands Regional Award in 2019 and was a winner of the Insider Residential Property Awards 2019, in the category Small Residential Development of The Year (fewer than 100 units). The scheme was also selected as a Regional Finalist in the Civic Trust Awards 2020.
We worked with K4 Architects to select the contemporary cream multi facing brick.
